Q: How did
Walt's get started? A: Glad you asked! Check out the story here! Q: How do I get to Walt's?? A: It's easy to get to Walt's! Take your easiest route to 690. From the city of Syracuse, and points east, get on 690W. If you're in Baldwinsville, Liverpool, or points west, get on 690E. In either direction, get off on Exit 5. Take three right hand turns, including the one at the stop signs at the end of the exits, and you'll be at our shop in no time! Click here if you want an up to date map! Q: What are the hours you are open? A: Mon-Tues-Fri: 9am-9pm Wed-Thur: 9am-6pm Sat: 10am-5pm Sun: 11am-5pm Q: How do you ship items if I order from you? A: We use a variety of shipping options that are available to us. We use Fed-Ex, UPS and The U.S. Postal Service as well! Q: Do you accept Credit Cards? A: Yes, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express Q: What is the startup cost for R/C Planes? A: Anywhere from $70.00 for a R-T-F Electric Plane, to whatever you want to put into the hobby. We cover the whole range at Walt's Hobby! Q: What is the startup cost for R/C Cars? A: From about $90 to whatever you would like to put into your ride! Q: What is the startup cost for R/C Boats? A: This will cost you around $80 to get going with a complete electric radio controlled boat package. Q: What is the startup cost for R/C Helicopters? A: This is an area where we have seen a tremendous shift over the last few years at Walt's Hobby. We used to have to spend around $1000 to get someone set up with a gas-powered helicopter. Now, we can get someone into an indoor electric helicopter for as cheap as $50, but around $200 will get you something that has better control to it! Q: Can the R/C cars and trucks be used all year round? A: Yes, so long you protect the electronic components against getting wet! Q: How much runtime should I expect per charge for my electric vehicles? A: Electric R/C boats, cars and trucks run for 7-10 minutes per charge. Newer battery and motor technology has given us some new options here. Using Lithium-Polymer batteries, and Brushless motor systems, this can be increased quite a bit! Q: How long does it take to re-charge the batteries? A: It depends on what kind of battery you are using. If you have a Nickel Metal Hydride battery (NI-MH) you can usually charge them up fairly quickly. Approximately 1/2 an hour, to 45 minutes or so. A Lithium Polymer battery (LiPo) is another animal altogether! Using the correct kind of charger, you can usually charge these up in anywhere from an hour, at the earliest, to a few hours at the most. Q: Do you have A.M.A. applications? A: We sure do! If you would like to purchase a license at our store, we can have you in the AMA's system before you get to the field to fly! Come on in and ask how we can do this for you! |
